Aurora Aksnes Born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. She has previously made two covers that have been viewed by the world's media: Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. It was further recognized via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Celebrate her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is of finding an attic piano and being awed by the sound it could make. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for an occupation or pastime but as a way to develop. Thus, she began her own compositions. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an inclination to Bjork's style. She began performing their songs in public after her mother suggested that they might help others not be famous with her music but instead help those around them see the importance of their work and how they have an impact on the world. Her first piano lesson was when she was just 6 years old and was writing her first song at the age of nine. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was 14. Aurora wasn't a dream. As she says, she simply enjoys writing songs. She says that music is her most preferred way of feeling anything.
